RSA Security Inc. has announced that DTE Energy Co. has selected RSA Sign-On Manager enterprise single sign-on (ESSO) solution paired with RSA Smart Cards to increase corporate IT security and alleviate the end-user password management burden. RSA Sign-On Manager software enabled DTE Energy to reduce the number of passwords end-users manage and tighten security through two-factor authentication. With IntelliAccess technology, RSA Sign-On Manager delivers self-service emergency access capabilities, ensuring DTE Energy end-users are never locked out of critical business applications.
DTE Energy, a Detroit-based diversified energy company, deployed RSA Sign-On Manager within the company's IT security group and to employees with high security requirements, such as individuals responsible for managing the flow of energy across the business' network. The project was part of a security initiative aimed at bolstering protection of critical business systems. RSA Sign-On Manager software enables users to leverage one strongly protected login to access a range of IT software and systems, including the Microsoft Windows domain, proxy servers, IBM Lotus Notes and various Web resources.
