Electric utilities are using a new technology, developed by Ubicquia, to give operations managers real-time situational intelligence into the health of their distribution transformers and beyond. The technology, called the UbiGrid DTM+, was built in collaboration with Florida Power & Light to monitor in real-time a transformer’s oil pressure, temperature, and electrical current. This information gives utilities a clear view of the asset’s health, while also providing crystal-clear visibility into the surrounding distribution grid
