A project to improve voltage levels for Entergy Texas customers in Wildwood, Texas is nearing completion with the installation of new transformers that are rated for a higher voltage than those currently in use. “This area is served by a 34.5-kV line,” explained Mic Cowart, customer service manager for Wildwood. “The transformers in the area don’t allow us to make the best use of the available voltage, so we are removing the older ones and installing some new banks of transformers in key locations. This will enable us to take advantage of the voltage already available in the area, making service more reliable for existing customers and also providing more power for new customers and increased load.”
