The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has approved a 230 kV transmission line project, a gen-tie line, to cross approximately 4.7 miles of public lands and connect the Rock Creek wind facility in Wyoming.

The facility is expected to generate 590 MW of clean energy to the Wyoming electric grid.

Rock Creek Wind proposed to construct, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission the 38-mile transmission project to cross a mix of public and private lands in Albany and Carbon counties.

The decision was followed by a 30-day public comment period in which BLM collected public input on two options considered for the project before authorizing the project right-of-way.
