    Sam Dong was founded in 1977 in South Korea and today manufactures various types of winding wires for the energy industry, including transmission and distribution in its facilities in Korea and the United States. Based on using oxygen-free copper, Sam Dong produces continuously transposed conductors (CTC), enameled round and rectangular copper and aluminum wire, paper-covered wire, bare wire, transformer lead cable, special insulations as well as specialty copper alloys and shapes.

    Sam Dong has developed many specialty processes, including the production and use of OFHC (oxygen fee high conductivity copper) for critical magnet wire applications.
