Future-Proofing the Energy Workforce: A People-First Approach to Strategic Talent Management

The objective of this panel is to discuss the workforce challenges facing the industry today and offer talent strategies that can be leveraged to drive a positive employee experience.

Over 70% of energy employers are struggling to attract and retain a qualified workforce. The objective of this panel at the 2022 IEEE PES Transmission & Distribution Conference is to discuss the workforce challenges facing the industry today and offer talent strategies that can be leveraged to drive a positive employee experience.

We have selected panel members with broad utility expertise in the areas of operations, human resources, human performance & safety, workforce development, and workforce analytics.

The panel discussion will focus on three areas:

  1. The forces in the industry that are having the greatest impact on attracting and retaining top talent.
  2. The role of the employee experience on achieving high performance (e.g., safety, reliability, etc…)
  3. People strategies that employers should adopt to adequately prepare their employees (e.g, qualification systems, mentoring/coaching, and development programs to drive engagement, etc…)

The panel discussion will also include a Q&A period to drive a productive conversation and engage the audience.
