April 18, 2022
This panel will discuss factors such as ergonomics, video wall technologies, human factors & human performance, visualizations, virtual reality and other technologies that come into play to build the control room of the future.

As utilities strive to eliminate the impacts of events that interrupt power supply and the integration of renewables and distributed generation, while also trying to strengthen situational awareness and safety, what’s the optimal design and structure for the control center, and what tools and solutions are recommended?

This panel at the 2022 IEEE PES Transmission and Distribution Conference will discuss factors such as ergonomics, video wall technologies, human factors & human performance, visualizations, virtual reality and other technologies that come into play to build the control room of the future. Covering practical examples used in electric, gas and water operations, we’ll discuss the growing challenges and complexities in control rooms and contributing factors to those challenges, providing examples of techniques that have successfully addressed them.
