July 20, 2009 -- The patented VacStat® Vacuum Interrupter Monitor featured on Thomas & Betts' Transmasterâ„¢, Varmasterâ„¢ and VerSaVac® Capacitor Bank Switches is the only real-time vacuum-loss detection technology available in the industry, according to the vendor. It continuously monitors vacuum integrity while the switch is energized and in service. In the event of vacuum loss, the VacStat technology provides immediate local and remote vacuum-failure indication and blocks further switch operation to prevent possible equipment damage or personnel injury.

While visually looking at the VacStat indicator, operators and engineers know immediately whether the vacuum interrupter has lost vacuum and is at risk of failing. This allows you to take immediate action to protect your valuable resources.

For more information about VacStat technology, visit utility.tnb.com or contact your Thomas & Betts sales representative by calling (800) 326-5282.
