Best Selling Electric Vehicles in the U.S., by Make and Model

Jan. 22, 2021
Electric vehicles, according to the International Energy Agency, account for 3 percent of total vehicle sales

Electric vehicles, while still making up only a small slice of the vehicles made and sold in the United States, are a growing share of the market. During 2020’s lockdowns, many people found their cars parked in their garages and driveways unused for long periods of time, and in certain areas, car dealerships were closed altogether.

Still, the electrification of the personal transportation sector is continuing despite it all. EVs remain more expensive than internal combustion engine cars, but prices are lowering to within the reach of more customers. Electric vehicles, according to the International Energy Agency, account for 3 percent of total vehicle sales.

Here are the top 10 best selling electric vehicles in the United States, ranked using sales figures from 2019, the most recent data available, courtesy of InsideEVs.
