Powering Rural Bolivia

Oklahoma’s and Missouri’s electric cooperatives sent 16 volunteers to northern Bolivia to set up electricity.

Oklahoma’s and Missouri’s electric cooperatives – with coordination from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association – sent 16 volunteers to northern Bolivia to set up electricity in two remote villages in the Amazonian basin. The project was an expansion of service to Cooperativa Electrica Riberalta, the local utility based in Riberalta, Beni, Bolivia.
