Northeast Tech Offers Lineman Training Program in Oklahoma

Nov. 14, 2022
The Pryor campus started an electrical lineman training program two years ago to meet the need for linemen in northeast Oklahoma.

To meet the high demand for linemen, especially in Northeast Oklahoma, Northeast Tech started an electrical lineman training program at its Pryor Campus two years ago. This program lasts 12 months, and the classes meet from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. from Monday through Friday.

The course, which is a total of 1460 hours, includes a combination of classroom coursework and hands-on training ranging from general safety and CDL preparation to pole climbing skills and equipment operation.

The cost of the program includes tuition and equipment fees. The 13th-year tuition waiver applies for in-district students, which would cover $2,000, however, students are still responsible for equipment fees. Financial aid is available to those who qualify. For more information, complete and submit this online form or view the video clip below. You can also email the instructor, Jeff Floyd

The video below discusses the need for linemen in Oklahoma, and how the training program is helping to fill the need in the workforce.
