• NRECA Votes No on Greenhouse Gas Resolution

    NRECA has previously stated that it opposes the use of the Clean Air Act to regulate greenhouse gas emissions.

    More than 8,000 representatives from cooperative electric utilities across the nation are attending the NRECA Annual Meeting Feb. 23-25, during which they will set NRECA’s legislative and organizational agenda for 2015.

    On the amendment to the greenhouse gas resolution to increase NRECA involvement in active research and educational effort;  the vote was:
    No: 380
    Yes: 275

    NRECA has previously stated that it opposes the use of the Clean Air Act to regulate greenhouse gas emissions.

    In addition to considering and acting upon policy resolutions, delegates receive reports from NRECA officials, hear addresses by key public figures and business experts, and attend educational forums on major issues affecting electric cooperatives and their consumer owners.
