Lafayette, CA – October 28, 2008— Utility Integration Solutions, Inc. (UISOL) announced today that it will be presenting on the topic of Demand Response Management (DRM) at two utility industry events in November.

UISOL CEO Ali Vojdani will present Demand Response Business Network on Nov. 6 at EUCI NextGen: The Future of Demand Response & Energy Efficiency in Boston, MA. Vojdani and UISOL Vice President Mark Day will also lead a Post Conference Workshop, Implementing Demand Response Management (DRM) and Meter Data Management (MDM), on Nov. 7. On Nov. 13, Vojdani will present Enterprise Integration of Demand Response at the Grid-InterOp Conference in Atlanta.

Grid-InterOp is organized and supported in partnership with the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the Gridwise Architecture Council, and the U.S. Department of Energy.

An expert in applying integration and business process management to the unique challenges of the utility industry, Ali Vojdani, Ph.D. has been at the forefront of industry efforts to advance the development of integrated Demand Response solutions. UISOL has provided strategic consulting to several utilities and has managed the implementation and demonstration of the California Demand Response Business Network (DRBizNet), which integrates the demand response business value chain for utility industry stakeholders including utilities, market participants and operators.

Drawing on UISOL's experience, the presentations and workshop will address issues surrounding implementation and integration of a demand response application and examine the lessons learned in working with utilities and ISOs to successfully integrate all stakeholders.

Vojdani said, “Although the utility industry is increasingly recognizing the need for DR programs to effectively address capacity shortages and increase efficiency of power markets, DR management is complex and unless we get much better at it, it will become the limiting factor in DR growth.

To get better at DR management, we need a Dynamic DRM Software infrastructure that can automate and efficiently manage the DR business network.”

EUCI NextGen: The Future of Demand Response & Energy Efficiency is being held in Boston, MA November 5-6 at the Hyatt Regency. The conference presents a forum to examine Demand Response initiatives, understand the future drivers for DR programs, hear from customers, and share opinions on how best to deliver the products that will meet energy needs. Grid-InterOp will take place in Atlanta Nov. 11-13. The conference will inform and engage public and private electric systems stakeholders in the integration issues associated with the complex, distributed automation systems involved in creating a more efficient, reliable, and resilient electric system.
