TXU Energy Right Time Pricing Plans Give Consumers More Clarity, Options and Incentives

With the introduction of the first four Right Time Pricing plans, TXU Energy is now the only retail electricity provider in Texas to offer residential customers the choice of free electricity all night or all weekend. TXU Energy is also the only retailer offering commercial customers the opportunity to save based on how they operate their businesses.

The company brought back TXU Energy Free Nights and launched TXU Energy Free Weekends in May.

Tens of thousands of customers already are enjoying the benefits of TXU Energy Free Nights, with some aggressively shifting their air conditioning use, dishwashing, laundry and other chores to the nighttime hours of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

With TXU Energy Free Weekends, consumers get a simple rate for electricity used during the week and free electricity from 12 a.m. Saturday to 11:59 p.m. Sunday. That means no usage-based charges for electricity or delivery all weekend, all year.

The average household uses about 25 percent of its electricity from 12 a.m. Saturday to 11:59 p.m. Sunday. Customers’ savings can increase as they shift more consumption into those free hours and make additional efforts to be energy-efficient and to conserve.

For commercial customers, TXU Energy Power Hours AM and TXU Energy Power Hours PM offer savings opportunities based on how those businesses operate. TXU Energy Power Hours AM offers half off energy charges from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. TXU Energy Power Hours PM offers the same benefit from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. every day.

The Right Time Pricing suite helps customers focus on when they are using electricity and how they can take advantage of various savings opportunities that are good for them and for the state as electricity supplies tighten during extreme weather conditions.
