Chandra Prakash Awasthi graduated in 2003 with a BE degree and is the deputy general manager of POWERGRID's technology development department. He was involved in the construction, testing and commissioning of two 400/765-kV Greenfield substations equipped with IEC 61850 systems. He has also been actively associated with the testing and commissioning of IEC 61850-based control, protection and automation systems at various substations throughout India.
