Peter Hubbard joins the T&D World Live podcast to discuss the challenges of keeping electricity affordable and reliable as Georgia experiences significant growth in electricity demand.
The funding will support locally driven projects to upgrade critical infrastructure, reduce the risk of power disruptions, improve grid performance and accommodate growing electricity demand.
The projects enhance the UK’s energy infrastructure, including live maintenance techniques and system optimization tools, aiming for a more resilient and efficient network.
The replacement steel poles are stronger than the existing towers, allowing PGE to use fewer structures along the route. The upgraded powerlines will be capable of carrying nearly twice as much electricity as the existing lines.
The company has installed more than 83,500 storm-resilient poles, cleared more than 14,000 miles of higher-risk vegetation near power lines and undergrounded more than 900 miles of power lines.
