IBEW Needs Volunteers to Sew Masks for Linemen

April 18, 2020
To protect lineworkers in the field, the IBEW asked for help sewing more masks during the COVID-19 pandemic. T&D World's readers and subscribers answered the call, and the IBEW has met its goal for masks.

UPDATE: Thanks to your support, the IBEW now has enough masks to meet its needs as of March 8, 2020.

Here is the original story:

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) is looking for volunteers to sew more masks for the nation's lineworkers as they work on the front lines to restore power during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Those interested in helping can send an email to [email protected] to receive a pattern for the masks and further instructions. You can also visit www.lumembership.org to learn more. Volunteers are welcome to either send the finished face masks to LU or donate them to their local linemen in their communities.

Thank you from T&D World for helping with this important project to safeguard lineworkers as they continue their essential work in the field. The volunteers can be recognized at www.lumembership.org or remain anonymous.
