Border Basin I, LLC, in an April 26 preapplication notification letter filed with the Ohio Power Siting Board, said that it is proposing to build the Border Basin Solar Project in Cass Township, Hancock County, Ohio.
The solar-powered electric generation facility would be sited on about 1,356 acres and have a maximum total generating capacity of up 120 MW alternating current, the company said.
Construction is anticipated to begin as early as 4Q22, resulting in commercial operations in 4Q23, the company said.
Border Basin said that it anticipates filing with the board its application for a certificate of environmental compatibility and public need to build the project within 90 days of a public information meeting, which is scheduled for May 13.
