Empresa Nacional de Transmisión de Energía Eléctrica (ENTRESA, Nicaragua) has selected a new energy management system (EMS) from the Energy Management & Information Systems Division of Siemens Power Transmission & Distribution.

Siemens will provide its SINAUT Spectrum SCADA system with Intercontrol Center Protocol, advanced power and network applications and an operator training simulator for the National Load Dispatch Center (CNDC).

The CNDC objective is to schedule and operate the Nicaraguan National Electrical Interconnected System, which includes interconnections with other countries in Central America, to achieve economic benefits.

The new system will allow ENTRESA to adhere to the quality and reliability factors necessary to administrate the National Electrical Wholesale Market according to the regulations of the Nicaraguan National Energy Institute.
