The Industrial Technology Research Institute, a Taiwanese research organization that serves to strengthen the technological competitiveness of Taiwan, has selected eMeter's EnergyIP information platform and customer Web portal for use in its upcoming Smart Grid pilot program.

ITRI will implement its AMI demonstration for domestic industry and regulation development. Government funding for the AMI pilot project was secured, and plans to involve 300 to 500 customers. The pilot includes a basic functional test that may contribute to AMI regulation and standards in Taiwan. The communication architecture and system interfaces will also be evaluated.
