Whitehall Electric Utility has selected Elster's EnergyAxis system for its hosted Advanced Metering Infrastructure deployment. Whitehall services both electricity and water consumers and is the first of WPPI Energy's member utilities to enroll in the hosted AMI service offered by WPPI Energy. WPPI is a regional power company with 51 consumer-owned utility members serving more than 195,000 homes and businesses in Wisconsin, Upper Michigan and Iowa.
Whitehall selected Elster's EnergyAxis through WPPI primarily due to the system's robust mesh technology, which is self-configuring, self-healing, and self-optimizing.
"WPPI Energy continues to invest in innovative technologies that enable us to more efficiently operate our electric system while meeting the evolving needs of member utilities such as Whitehall Electric Utility," said WPPI Energy Sr. Vice President of Member and Customer Services Tom Paque.
