Balaji Santhanam currently serves as the Business Unit Director for Utility Automation Business Unit at Hubbell. Balaji has over 14 years’ experience in smart grid industry and has an extensive background in engineering, product management and business development. Prior to his current role, Balaji was a Product Manager for Hubbell with responsibility for Volt-VAR Optimization solutions, Switchgear and Smart Grid Sensors. He worked as Technical Sales Engineer covering the Western US & Canada, Design Engineer for Distribution Reclosers and also worked with Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories as a Power System Protection & Controls Engineer. Balaji holds a Master’s Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Anna University, India.
