Summary

As the energy transition accelerates, the need for coordinated planning across electricity and gas systems has become more urgent—and more complex. This webinar brings together leading experts to explore how integrated modeling, flexible infrastructure strategies, and innovative planning approaches can address emerging challenges in meeting future energy consumer needs.

We will examine the operational, regulatory, and spatial misalignments that can arise when gas and electric systems are planned in silos. The discussion will highlight promising innovations in modeling, DER impact analysis, and hybrid infrastructure design that offer a more holistic path forward.

In addition to exploring the technical frontiers, we will address a critical enabler of progress: workforce development. The transition to deeply integrated planning demands new skill sets, interdisciplinary fluency, and a pipeline of engineers, analysts, and planners who can work across traditional boundaries. Panelists will discuss how the innovation process itself must evolve—not just in tools and technologies, but in the way we train, collaborate, and think.

Join us to learn how coordinated electricity and gas planning can unlock a more resilient, affordable, and decarbonized energy future—and what it will take to get there.
