The Miniflex from HDW Electronics is a professional time-domain reflectometer and audio frequency generator designed to detect and locate faults on power cables and copper communication cables up to a distance of 19,000 feet. Due to advanced signal processing technology, the Miniflex finds opens, short circuits, splices, taps, water ingress and other more elusive impedance mismatches. A built-in oscillator also provides an audio tone for pair tracing and identification.
The Miniflex features adjustable cable impedance matching, which qualifies it to be used on power and communication cables, including twisted-pair and coaxial, with graphical results and fault distances. The TDR/tone-generator is housed in a tough, rugged ABS water and dust-proof plastic case and is supplied complete with test leads and a protective tool-belt holster. The Miniflex has a high level of user convenience due to its two-button operation.
