Kathleen A. Shea is president of Transmission for Eversource Energy, overseeing Eversource’s transmission policy, strategy, major projects (including regulatory approvals) and compliance. Over the last 10 years, Eversource Transmission has placed almost $5.5 billion of new or upgraded transmission facilities in service, ensuring regional reliability and largely eliminating “congestion” charges for customers.
A resident of Cromwell, Connecticut, Kathy joined Eversource Energy in 2004 and was associate general counsel in the Eversource Legal Department, moving to Transmission in 2007. After managing the highly successful $1.3 billion New England East - West Solution Project, a high-voltage transmission system build-out program across three states, she became the vice president of ISO Policy, Siting and Compliance in July 2016. In October 2016, Kathy moved into her current position.
Kathy received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Connecticut and a Juris Doctor from the Western New England University School of Law.
Kathy is a member of the board of trustees of Western New England University, and currently serves as president of the international trade association WIRES (Working Group for Investment in Reliable and Economic Electric Systems).
