AREVA T&D Sells Measurement Unit in U.S.; Partners with NovaTech

AREVA’s Transmission and Distribution division announced on June 30 the sale of its measurement Intelligent Electronic Devices unit, located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, U.S., to private buyout firm NovaTech LLC.

AREVA’s Transmission and Distribution division announced on June 30 the sale of its measurement Intelligent Electronic Devices unit, located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, U.S., to private buyout firm NovaTech LLC.

The unit employs 40 people and serves the United States and Western Canadian markets with high-performance measurement products for power electrical equipment, under Bitronics LLC, a NovaTech Affiliate.

AREVA T&D has also entered into a strategic partnership agreement with NovaTech to distribute the measurement instruments under the MiCOM brand names.

The MiCOM Series, which will be supported and served by AREVA T&D global operations, will focus on disturbance recorders, digital fault recorders and power quality recorders applications.
