SkyWave Mobile Communications has introduced SCADAconnect, an end-to-end connectivity solution. With SCADAconnect, solution providers are now able to quickly apply a secure plug-and-play primary (or back-up) satellite communication link to exchange machine real-time data between field equipment and enterprise applications.
Powered by the collaboration of deviceWISET and SkyWave’s IsatData Pro, SCADAconnect makes it possible to implement SCADA applications at a lower cost and in less time. Data are transmitted in real-time -- not limited to wire line or cellular communications – resulting in quicker decisions at the enterprise level.
With SCADAconnect, solution providers are now able to offer reliable, low latency communication with global coverage to even the most remote assets using SkyWave’s IsatData Pro (IDP) satellite communication network and ruggedized terminals (IDP-6xx, IDP-7xx, and IDP-8xx). The solution supports the most extensive range of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) devices in the market, such as Mitsubishi, Rockwell, and Siemens. It also supports a wide range of process and financial enterprise applications such as SCADA, OPC (Open Productivity & Connectivity), MES (Manufacturing Execution System), MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations), and CRM (Customer Relationship Management). SkyWave's IsatData Pro satellite network, and satellite and satellite-cellular terminals are configured to provide the wide area connection between the Asset Gateway and the Enterprise Gateway.
