Injazat Data Systems has been awarded a 10-year information technology (IT) outsourcing contract with the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA), valued in excess of $110 million (AED 375 million).
Under this agreement, the largest full-service IT outsourcing deal to date in the region, Injazat will assume full responsibility for all of the IT requirements of the ADWEA group of companies. Injazat will provide ADWEA with a fully integrated IT managed service, comprising IT infrastructure management, application management and new project management and delivery.
"Our agreement will accelerate and reinforce the prominent business and IT leadership of ADWEA," said Ahmed Ali Al-Sayegh, Injazat Data Systems' chairman.
ADWEA and Injazat teams have been working collaboratively to shape the service delivery model and prepare for the transfer of more than 150 ADWEA Group IT staff to Injazat.
"Injazat will continue to work with the authority's existing IT product and services suppliers, exploring ways to harness local experience and apply global industry best practice," said ADWEA's board chairman, Sheikh Diab bin Zayed Al Nahyan. "This deal will further support the continuing success of ADWEA and our innovative approach to the application of IT to the business."
