Hunt Technologies has announced agreements with three major meter manufacturers to become a preferred supplier of ERT-equivalent automatic meter reading (AMR) modules.

Agreements that are either signed or nearly complete with GE Energy and Sensus will make Hunt’s AirPoint module the primary choice for integration into meters produced by these companies. AirPoint is an RF-based AMR module that is fully compatible with Itron mobile collection systems. Hunt also has negotiated an AirPoint supplier agreement with Landis+Gyr and, together, the companies announced commercial availability of the Hunt AirPoint FOCUS endpoint in September 2005.

Hunt Technologies acquired the license to manufacture ERT technology in 2004. It began marketing the AirPoint in June 2005.
