eMeter, A Siemens Business, has announced a new cloud-based offering for its flagship smart grid application platform EnergyIP. eMeter's software is a suitable solution not only for small to mid-size utilities, but for thousands of utilities around the globe needing to accommodate existing Automatic Meter Reading systems and monthly reads while simultaneously embracing modern applications to advance customer engagement.
The new offering can be accessed from the cloud directly via Siemens or through strategic partners as a managed service with subscription-based pricing on a per meter, per month basis, allowing end users to benefit from increased capital efficiency along with application flexibility.
The new offering is beneficial to small and mid-size utilities as they will not need to buy or maintain the software and hardware for data storage, or hire IT experts to run the application, creating a low-risk, high-reward mechanism for entry. The scalable solution provides management without sacrifice.
