Efacec ACS has been selected to deliver smart grid technology to one of the largest electric distribution companies in El Salvador, the Distribuidora de Electricidad del Sur, SA de CV (DELSUR). The delivery will include a new outage management system (OMS) and distribution management system (DMS), along with enhanced security features and application redundancy. The project includes an upgrade to the existing Efacec ACS PRISM SCADA system and integration with the utility's geospatial information system (GIS) and other corporate systems.
"Efacec ACS and DELSUR have had a positive relationship since 1997, and it is our goal to consolidate a long term relationship that will allow us to grow technologically with a partner with an innovation vision," noted DELSUR Project Manager Victor Zaldana.
The new PRISM DMS and OMS will provide DELSUR with a state-of-the-art solution to help effectively manage and improve the quality and reliability of electricity supply in El Salvador, through enhanced automation and improved situational awareness. The new system will be the first integrated SCADA/DMS/OMS platform in the Central American region, and will include functions such as:
- Call/Ticket Management
- Work Order Management
- Crew Assignment
- Prediction Engine
- Browser-based GUI
- PRISM OMS Enterprise Reporter
- Switch Order Management
- Fault Detection, Isolation and Restoration (FDIR)
- Integration with the current systems in DELSUR, including GIS, CIS, AVL and Quality of Service System, among others.
