March 9, 2016
Financial, strategic and technological hurdles of massive green push

Utilities from across California and the United States will gather in San Francisco April 6 for an unprecedented deep dive into the business and technical challenges of complying with the most sweeping renewable and energy storage initiatives in the world.

Four utilities serving 35 million California customers have banded together to speak at and sponsor The California Renewables Rush conference.

Collectively, they will discuss their plans to roll out a vast array of solar, wind and other new renewable assets as well as cutting edge energy storage capabilities in the huge 125,000 square mile swath of the Golden State that they serve.

Also speaking and sponsoring the event is the Edison Electric Institute, which represents 70 percent of America’s electric power industry.

J. Andrew Murphy, senior vice president of strategic planning at Edison International, Patrick M. Hogan, senior vice president of electric transmission and distribution at Pacific Gas and Electric, Scott Drury, chief energy supply officer at San Diego Gas & Electric and Arlen Orchard, general manager and CEO of Sacramento Municipal Utility District, will be on hand at the event.

The national implications of California's policies will be explored by Constance Lau, president and CEO of Hawaiian Electric Industries, and the Hon. Colette Honorable, commissioner, U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

EEI members may go to the registration link and receive a 20 percent discount by using the code, EEI20.
