There are several means of improving the lightning performance of transmission lines, ranging from extraordinarily expensive to moderate.
Stephen G. Lodwig, Project Engineer, Sargent & Lundy, will present Mitigating Lightning Outages on 138 kV Transmission Lines at a panel session on Tuesday, April 22, at 1 p.m.

This presentation compares different means of improving lightning performance and the costs and benefits. A low cost means of improving line performance that has been applied for several years with excellent results is highlighted.

Additional copies of this paper will be available at Booth 804.
