Spotlight on the Innovation Stage: S&C Electric to Highlight Grid Studies

March 9, 2020
Paul McMullen will explain the findings of various analytical studies that explain how the industry enables consumers to connect to the grid without negatively impacting grid stability.

The reality of distributed energy resources, electric vehicles, non-wires alternatives, and notably changing customer expectations is shaking up the electric-power industry. Utilities are faced with the conundrum of planning for the future and managing the extensive investment required to upgrade the grid, while still maintaining normal business operations.

Join S&C’s Paul McMullen, vice president – Canada Business Unit, on the Innovation Stage as he explains the findings of various analytical studies that explain how the industry enables consumers to connect to the grid without negatively impacting grid stability and reliability.

They also will discuss what a utility business model must look like to allow for successful cost-effective operations in the face of all the new technologies and power connections.

The presentation titled, "Analytical and Regulatory Modeling: Anticipates the Feeder of the Future" will be on the Innovation Stage from noon to 1 p.m. on April 22, 2020. The presentation will also seek to uncover whether new products are needed to accomplish future goals. This presentation is included with all IEEE T&D registrations. For more information, visit https://sandc.news/IEEE-Innovation.
