Siemens PTI Designated North America Training Center for All of Siemens Power T&D

Siemens' Power Technologies International (Siemens PTI) headquarters in Schenectady, New York, USA, has been designated the North America Training Center for all of Siemens Power Transmission and Distribution, Inc. (SPTD) with satellite training centers in Houston, Texas, Denver, Colorado, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Wendell, North Carolina, and Jackson, Mississippi.

Siemens has been successfully training power engineers domestically and internationally for more than 37 years. Siemens PTI has expanded its instructor base and is committed in providing clients the state-of-the-art educational resources needed by today's utilities and industries. It supplies a wealth of information on topics in every discipline around the world.

The next short course on transmission will be June 11- 15, 2007. The Advanced Transmission Planning with Modern Network Analysis Tools (PSS™E, PSS™MUST, PSS™OPF) will be at the Siemens Office - Schenectady, New York. Tuition is $2450. The course covers practical application of the latest analytical and simulation technologies available to transmission planners and uses hands-on approach to demonstrate concepts and implementation of planning methods and tools. Topics include multi-objective analysis, planning under uncertainty, assessment of reliability schemes, thermal capacity expansion, transfer limit analysis, dynamic modeling for future equipment and stability countermeasures, and database requirements.
