Consumers Energy Upgrades Infrastructure to Boost Reliability

Consumers Energy has kicked off two electric enhancement projects in Saginaw, Michigan, to upgrade infrastructure and enhance reliability for customers.

Consumers Energy has kicked off two electric enhancement projects in downtown Saginaw, Michigan, to upgrade infrastructure and enhance reliability for customers. The initial work will allow the company to finalize underground electric cable upgrades later this spring to better serve current and future electric needs of customers in the downtown and surrounding area.

Lodestar, a Consumers Energy authorized contractor, is performing the infrastructure work, which includes the installation of underground concrete structures to house new electric cable as well as two new manholes. This project should be completed by Feb. 18, with installation of electric cables taking place in the April-May timeframe.
