While adhering to strict COVID-19 pandemic protocols, Eversource crews worked around-the-clock shifts to restore power to customers impacted by a severe wind and rain storm on April 13. As of midday on April 14, line and tree crews restored power to more than 93,000 customers since the storm began and were working to bring the remaining 7,500 customers back on line.
Field engineers were on patrol on April 16 to examine hundreds of miles of electrical equipment to look for signs of damage, according to Eversource on Twitter. In the 139 communities that were affected, more than 100 broken poles had to be replaced.
Following restoration, a team of Eversource New Hampshire crews and contractors headed to Massachusetts to provide assistance. As part of a plan to keep the workers safe, the crews received job assignments from a satellite dispatch center in New Hampshire.
