Ergon Europe Oils up for CWIEME Berlin 2014

May 21, 2014

May 21, 2014 -- CWIEME Berlin is the event for anybody who’s anybody in the coil winding, insulation and electrical manufacturing industry – not least Ergon Europe, the world’s largest manufacturer of naphthenic oils.

On the 24-26th June, CWIEME Berlin will bring together over 7,000 engineers, designers, buyers and academics from around the world to take part in this important and comprehensive industry exhibition. Gathering the biggest names in the coil winding, insulation and electrical manufacturing industries together under one roof, CWIEME Berlin allows suppliers to network, develop new business opportunities and find out about recent industry trends.

One of the 750 suppliers attending this year’s event is Ergon Europe MEA, who is using the show to connect with customers and keep up-to-date with industry developments.  Ergon is the world’s largest manufacturer of naphthenic specialty oils, boasting an annual production capacity of 1,200,000 metric tonnes a year in insulating oils, process oils and base oils.

According to Véronique Rousseau, Office & Sales Manager, the event presents Ergon’s European branch with a number of opportunities. “CWIEME Berlin is the best place to meet procurers and purchasers, as well as to maintain existing partnerships,” she explains. “We have attended the exhibition for three years now, and it really is the place to be – participating in the exhibition shows that you’re a big player in the industry.”

Global ambition

Displaying its current product line up at this year’s show, Ergon Europe also hopes to extend its target customer network of transformer manufacturers.

For Véronique Rousseau, the exhibition also acts as a forum for exploring the position of Europe with relation to emerging markets. With the increasing electrification of regions such Asia, Latin America and Africa, the industry is faced with several growing possibilities for development.

“With some countries in these regions only partially electrified, there is huge growth potential for the electrical industries. What is more, in places such as Saudi Arabia, where cities are quite literally growing out of the desert, the development of an electricity grid is essential,” she says

The major factors responsible for the growth of the transformer oil market are increasing power grids in developing regions, rising investments and the enlargement of electricity grids in developed regions, as well as the increasing adoption of renewable energy resources such as solar and wind.  The global transformer oil market consumption is estimated to grow from 1.35 billion liters in 2012 to 1.73 billion liters by 2017 with focus on Asia Pacific where the consumption is expected to grow by an average of 6% till 2018.

“CWIEME Berlin gives the industry an opportunity to discuss these developments and allows Ergon to keep up-to-date with how to sustain a relevant presence,” she concludes.
