Asset Tracking Offers Automatic Data Collection App

William Frick & Co. has introduced a new out-of-the-box, ready-to-use SmartCAT asset tracking system.

SmartCAT offers time-saving solutions for electrical utility companies at an economical price. Frick’s comprehensive selection of RFID tags allows utilities to track a variety of inventory including transformers, assets on a pole, and high-voltage insulators.

SmartCAT combines an automatic data collection app, a ruggedized handheld RFID reader, and durable RFID tags. Users will save considerable time and reduce errors by replacing handwritten maintenance and inspection reports, surveys and inventory sheets, greatly increasing efficiency and productivity.

SmartCAT’s ready to use system requires no specialized software or service contracts. Users simply define what data to collect with a choice of input methods, including RFID, barcodes, digital camera, GPS and menu-driven keypad entry with programmable mandatory data fields to prevent incomplete reports.

SmartCAT works with Frick’s comprehensive line of over 200 of the best-in-class SmartMark™ RFID tags. You’ll find tags for virtually any application including a passive UHF tag with long read performance up to 65 feet away! Many SmartMark tags have been specifically designed to withstand outdoor use for many years—great for outside plants.

To see SmartCAT asset tracking system and other innovative RFID technical solutions, visit Booth # 4027 at IEEE PES Transmission & Distribution Conference & Exposition on April 14-17 in Chicago, Illinois.
