Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. has added several new features to synchroWAVe Central Software that improve information extraction and increase security.

“Synchrophasor systems contain large amounts of data,” said Bill Flerchinger, SEL senior marketing engineer. “The new features further enhance the user experience of synchroWAVe Central Software by quickly turning synchrophasor data into meaningful and useable information.”

User interface (UI) enhancements make it easier to view and find information. Alarms alert users of predefined system conditions, and phasor plots make it easier to see angle differences between several phasor measurement units (PMUs). Also, a powerful search function increases the speed of finding system conditions that match user-defined criteria. Several other UI improvements, including split screen capability, have also been added.

Security and logging enhancements include individual authentication plus user action and system status logging. These features improve security and provide detailed system data that help identify operational issues as well as log all alarms.

New modal analysis measurement allows easy, comprehensive identification of system oscillations and provides in-depth information, such as frequency and damping.
