The Smart-Thump from HDW Electronics is a fully integrated underground cable fault locating system that requires less training than a traditional thumper because it interpretd the results of the initial test sequence. Single push-button operation allows the fault locator to proof test, prelocate, and pinpoint the fault from one convenient control console. The unit automatically sets the thump voltage to minimize the stress applied to the cable.

The Smart-Thump features an automatic safety check to verify the correct connection of the high voltage and safety leads.
