Recognizing the utility industry’s increasing concern for security, S&C has further enhanced the wireless point-to-point communication capabilities of IntelliRupter PulseCloser to prevent unauthorized access.
In addition to SCADA control of the local communication interface and intrusion detection and alarming, IntelliRupter’s WiFi transceiver features 256-bit encryption with user-defined keys. Newly released “Crew” and “Region” key formats, combined with the existing “Master” key format for administrators and time lock capability, provide even-more-powerful access protection for IntelliRupter PulseCloser.
These features, plus IntelliRupter’s built-in controls — there’s no separate control enclosure that can be compromised — make the IntelliRupter local communication interface one of the industry’s most secure.
