BAUR Prüf- und Messtechnik GmbH and Onsite High Voltage International signed a cooperative agreement this past September. With this agreement, BAUR has obtained the worldwide distribution rights for the testing systems with Damped AC technology (DAC). The DAC products pose compact solutions for the on-site testing and condition evaluation of cable routes in the high- and extra high-voltage range (especially 110 kV - 400 kV).
The company behind Onsite High Voltage International AG is the Swiss company, Seitz Instruments AG. Seitz Instruments AG’s products are developed and manufactured in Switzerland. To date, these products have been sold and marketed under the trade name OWTS.
An increasing use of HV cable routes (>110 kV), e.g. in large cities, as well as the requirements of cable routes posed by renewable energies (e.g. offshore), increases the complexity and intricacy in the power grid. With its compactness and simplicity, DAC has proven to be a viable testing and diagnostic method.
