Users of Megger OTS PB and OTS AF oil test sets who have a wide range of testing requirements can now save money by purchasing a Super User kit. These new kits include all of the accessories needed to maximise the versatility of these popular instruments, at a price that is substantially lower than the total price for the items purchased separately.
The kits include a standard 400 ml test vessel suitable for the majority of tests and also a 150 ml test vessel that is invaluable when carrying out tests on equipment that has only a small volume of oil. Also included are a stirrer lid and three impellers. One impeller is a standard type that maximises test sensitivity when working with fresh samples, the second is focussed on ASTM standards and the third on IEC standards. The final item in the new kits is a booklet that provides detailed practical guidance on getting the best from Megger oil test sets.
Megger Super User kits are designed for use with OTS60PB and OTS80PB test sets, which are 60 kV and 80 kV models well-suited for use in the field, and with OTS60AF, OTS80AF and OTS100AF test sets, which are 60 kV, 80 kV and 100 kV models optimised for use in the laboratory.
All of these test sets are suitable for use with mineral, silicon, high molecular weight hydrocarbon (HMWH) and ester – both synthetic and natural – insulating liquids. They offer a choice of fully automatic operation with preloaded international test standards or user-configured test sequences to suit special requirements. The user interface is highly intuitive, and results are shown on a bright colour display that is easy to read even in direct sunlight.
As an aid to making accurate and repeatable measurements, the latest Megger OTS PB and OTS AF test sets incorporate a precision adjusting system for electrode spacing, which has a locking facility to ensure that the spacing cannot be accidentally altered during testing. An ultra fast trip detection circuit with direct measurement of both voltage and current is provided, and the instruments also include facilities for measuring the temperature of the test sample.
The new Super User kits for use with OTS test sets can be ordered at the same time as a new instrument, or as a separate item, allowing existing OTS users to enhance the versatility of their instrument and gain extra value from their investment in test equipment at little extra cost.
