GE Works to Improve Substation Situational Awareness

The D400 extends substation connectivity to improve situational awareness.

GE has announced enhancements to its D400 Substation Gateway and Multi-Function Server platform. With secure local or remote data access to modern and legacy substation devices enabled by Light Weight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and a comprehensive suite of communications protocols, the D400 extends substation connectivity to improve situational awareness.

With analog report generation and automated record retrieval the D400 summarizes data from substation devices and makes it available locally or remotely through a standard secure web browser (HTTPS). For increased availability and reliability of data the D400 also supports direct connectivity to Master Stations via a comprehensive suite of SCADA protocols.

GE’s advanced SGConfig software toolset simplifies D400 device management enabling offline configuration and secure LogicLinx connectivity, ensuring operators can automate substation procedures, improving operational efficiency and performance.
