Unify Corp. has announced that Cleveland Public Power (CPP) has leveraged the reporting and application development capabilities of Unify NXJ to detect $500,000 in previously un-realized revenue from customers. Cleveland Public Power uses Unify NXJ to generate and deliver real-time reports required by various stakeholders throughout the organization. This broader capability enabled the department to identify funds that had not been collected from customers, resulting in an immediate ROI for CPP.
Cleveland Public Power, the largest municipal power company in the state of Ohio and the 35th largest in the nation, used NXJ to replace Crystal reports and automate several of the reporting processes, which were previously labor-intensive. With NXJ, departmental staff can generate reports on-demand, providing a significant time and cost savings to the IT department.
"Unify NXJ is a flexible and well-designed product that allows us to leverage our existing IT skills," said David Rose, senior systems analyst, Cleveland Public Power. "Using the NXJ report engine, we created reports that helped us detect $500,000 in un-realized revenue from our customers. We already got a big bang for our bucks with this discovery."
With its success to date, Cleveland Public Power plans to leverage its investment and IT resources by using Unify NXJ as the de facto development platform for future projects that cannot be fulfilled by pre-packaged applications. CPP intends to use NXJ's business process automation functionality and ease of development to deliver imminent projects including an application for its call center that calculates pro-rated deposits for new residential customers as well as a process map of Cleveland Public Power's commercial connection business.
