Tillamook People’s Utility District in Oregon is one of the first utilities to implement Telvent’s Enterprise License Agreement for Small Utilities (ELA-SU) program. The ELA-SU program, recently launched, has been designed for U.S. electric, gas, and water/wastewater utilities with 100,000 combined meters or less.

The program is a cost-effective licensing option for the ArcFM Solution, the geographic information system (GIS) component of Telvent’s Smart Grid Solution. The participating utilities, typically cooperatives and municipals, will be able to purchase unlimited deployment of ArcFM Solution products, making GIS-based software tools for asset management more economical. The program empowers smaller utilities to perform optimally and provide the best service possible with current staffing - and helps support sustainability and security for all utilities, regardless of the number of meters they serve.

Tillamook PUD provides electric power to about 19,000 customers in Tillamook County, located along the north Oregon coast, and parts of two neighboring counties - an area of 1,125 square miles.

In 2005, the utility purchased ArcFM and ESRI’s ArcGIS, along with ArcFM applications Designer, Viewer, and Network Adapter. After finding advantage in these tools, the company purchased a few more seats since initial implementation. Now, the utility is looking forward to making additional seats of currently implemented software available across its businesses and expand its electric network management with additional ArcFM-based software.
