Telvent GIT S.A. has announced that Miner & Miner, a Telvent company, and iSLEM GIS of Ankara, Turkey. have partnered to offer the ArcFM solution to electric, gas, water and wastewater utilities throughout Turkey and the surrounding region. The ArcFM solution is a complete GIS utility solution for modeling, editing, maintaining, and managing facility asset data. It provides users with productivity tools that support the way the industry uses and manages data in the modern competitive marketplace. ArcFM's spatial components allow utilities to realize improvements in all business areas, including operations, engineering, customer service, marketing, and sales.

The Turkish energy market is currently experiencing rapid growth. By implementing an Enterprise GIS, utilities will be able to better manage their assets that will result in better customer service,” said Ricardo Ferreyros, international sales account manager at M&M. “There is a modernization trend, demonstrated by the utility market, and incorporation of new technologies is common.”

Telvent and Miner & Miner are business partners of ESRI, a developer of Geographic Information System software. iSLEM GIS is the distributor of ESRI technology in Turkey. This relationship provides the opportunity to expand the customer base of the ArcFM suite of products and continue to extend the ESRI community in Turkey.

iSLEM GIS will be completing its business partner training in ArcFM to become a certified ArcFM training center, upon which ÝÞLEM will be in a position to conduct Turkish-based ArcFM training for its clients. It will help the team provide local support and training to existing projects as well as implementation services and consulting to new and potential customers in the region.

"We are moving forward from just selling mapping databases and imagery to actually getting involved in software sales and implementation efforts. For many years the Turkish utility market has been searching for more comprehensive suppliers, able to support their growth with powerful and popular GIS tools. This is why we are very excited about working with Telvent and M&M, which has the right products and mind set to enable the fulfillment of customers' needs in the region,” said Dr. Halil Sogut, president and CEO of iSLEM GIS.
