Powel, Inc. has formed a strategic partnership with URMC to deliver empirical, risk-specific inventory and analysis data within a hosted service to utilities. Under the agreement, Powel will integrate URMC risk management data and solutions into its software suite, which improves the entire vegetation work management process.

URMC provides utilities with a complete managed service that uses aerial remote sensing and digital imaging technology to identify and inventory utility companies’ transmission assets, as well as nearby vegetation. The service then provides solutions for mitigating threats and documenting the elimination of these risks at a fraction of the cost of a traditional fly-over audit. Now utilities can rely on the information being automatically captured, analyzed and maintained to ensure system reliability and satisfy increasing regulatory demands.

“This partnership adds tremendous value to the data and solutions URMC offers utilities, now and in the future, by integrating our risk management intelligence into the very processes that drive a utility’s operational excellence,” says Adam Rousselle, president and CEO of URMC. “With Powel, we extend our ability to offer a turnkey solution through an eco-system of world-class technology and engineering partners that includes PLS-CADD, Burns & McDonnell and now Powel.”
