Survalent Technology has commissioned a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system for Oxford Electric Department.

Survalent Technology has commissioned a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for Oxford Electric Department.

Oxford Electric Department, located in north central Mississippi and home of the University of Mississippi, serves approximately 8,335 customers and is a member of Tennessee Valley Public Power Association (TVPPA).

The new system features Survalent's highly available, open-architecture system based on Windows Server 2008. The system includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including: Command Sequencing, Master/Slave Alarm Suppression, Event Data Recorder, IED Wizard, Control Panel, Remote Alarm Annunciation, System Configuration Status, and SCADA Add-in for MS Excel and Access. The system also included MultiSpeak 3.0 interfaces for Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), Load Management System (LMS), Engineering Analysis (EA), Outage Management System (OMS), Geographic Information System (GIS), and GIS-Batch Network Model Import.

The system was endorsed through Survalent's industry partner Hometown Connections, a utility services subsidiary of the American Public Power Association (APPA).
